CHIC offers a dynamic suite of suppliers, providing members with a marketplace from which to buy and deliver services, fully managed by an in-house supply chain support team.
To gain access to the suite of compliant frameworks, contracts and DPS solutions that CHIC has available, you must first become a member of CHIC, and be a Contracting Authority as defined in PCR 2015. It is free to become a member.
CHIC works collaboratively with over 1,000 suppliers ranging from SMEs through to National Tier 1 contractors. This extensive pool of suppliers offers our members different contract award options.
Once we have a full understanding of your requirements, CHIC can advise the routes to market that are available. Suppliers can either be appointed through mini competition or direct award, depending upon your specific requirements.

Mini Competition
Frameworks & DPS
What is it? We invite the frameworks and DPS contractors to tender, giving them an overview of your requirements. Those who are interested will enter the tender process and the most economically advantageous tender will be selected to deliver the works or services required.
Why use it? This allows you to be more flexible when choosing a service provider, testing the market and securing competitive pricing. You can also decide the quality : cost split for the selection, tailored to your specific needs.
Average Timeframe: 6-8 Weeks
Direct Award
Frameworks only
What is it? Direct Award is evaluated via a business case, taking into consideration a range of varying elements and not simply price. CHIC will support the assessment and development of a compliant business case.
Why use it? This may be the best if you have a pre-existing relationship with a contractor or supplier and require a compliant route to market. Also, if you have urgent works, lead times can be faster.
Average Timeframe: 2 Weeks
CHIC’s frameworks are published as “unranked”, providing the flexibility you need to work with the suppliers you want.
