Access to contractors and consultants for all newbuild projects, including MMC manufacturing and turnkey.
CHIC provides a range of solutions for newbuild and regeneration projects. These include a consultant and contractor DPS, long term contracts with MMC manufacturers, including turnkey options and, from mid-2023, a comprehensive newbuild framework.
DPS awards will be by mini competition. Framework and long-term contract awards can be by direct call off or mini competition.
CHIC has a range of standard house types and access to our materials supply chain.
Members can procure all required consultancy and contractor services through CHIC, or ‘mix and match’ with other solutions.
CHIC’s Head of Development will provide advice and support to establish the most efficient solution for each scheme.
CHIC’s Long-Term Contracts
CHIC has four current long term contracts in place, where any member can call off a project specific contract. All were procured under the (then) OJEU process and involved competitive tenders based on CHIC’s standard house types and a wide range of rates for all other work.

CHIC’s New Build Framework
By mid-2023, CHIC will launch a new build framework. This will adopt the government approved standards for framework procurement, “Constructing the Gold Standard”. It will provide for the current and future needs of CHIC’s diverse membership and supply chain partners.
This framework will run for an eight year term, to reflect the longer lead in times for development and provide opportunities to learn and share improvements on successive projects. There will be options for direct award and mini competition and the scope will include contractors, brick and block construction, MMC manufacture and/or turnkey, estate regeneration (newbuild, refurbishment and retrofit) as well as cross subsidy housing for sale. There will also be consultancy workstreams for employers agents, architects, structural / civil engineers and principal designers.
