A portal for knowledge sharing and best practice
CHIC is delighted to announce the launch of the Procurement Intelligence Hub, a new knowledge resource developed in partnership with the Healthy Homes Hub to help housing organisations unlock the full strategic potential of procurement.
Too often, procurement is viewed solely as a compliance function or a route to market. However, when engaged early and used effectively, procurement has the power to influence everything from asset performance and resident satisfaction to sustainability outcomes, social value delivery and long term value for money. The Procurement Intelligence Hub has been created to support this shift in thinking, providing housing providers, contractors and consultants with access to practical insight, technical expertise and real world learning from across the sector.
The Hub brings together a growing library of thought leadership, case studies, technical guidance and industry commentary, helping organisations to make more informed decisions and to better connect procurement activity with wider organisational objectives. By sharing knowledge and encouraging collaboration, the platform aims to support healthier homes, stronger communities and more effective investment in housing assets.
A key focus of the Hub is demonstrating how procurement can be used as a strategic enabler rather than simply a purchasing process. Topics currently featured include:
- Procurement’s role in delivering healthier homes and better resident outcomes
- Retrofit procurement and the challenges of achieving net zero ambitions
- Strategic Asset management and long term investment planning
- Building safety and compliance considerations
- Social value delivery through procurement
- Decarbonisation and sustainability strategies
- Innovation in housing maintenance and repairs
- Procurement and property data and intelligence
- Effective property performance measurement
The Hub will continue to grow over the coming months, with contributions from sector leaders, technical specialists and delivery partners who are helping to shape the future of housing procurement.
Alongside the launch, CHIC has also featured in the latest Healthy Homes Hub podcast, Procurement’s Untapped Power in Social Housing. In the episode, CHIC Chief Operating Officer Luke Hurd discusses why procurement should be involved earlier in project planning, how better use of data can improve decision making and the role procurement can play in delivering healthier, safer and more sustainable homes.
As housing providers face increasing pressure to deliver against building safety requirements, decarbonisation targets, resident expectations and financial constraints, access to practical intelligence and shared learning has never been more important. Through the Procurement Intelligence Hub, CHIC and Healthy Homes Hub are creating a platform where those insights can be shared, challenged and developed for the benefit of the wider sector.
We encourage members, partners and stakeholders to explore the Hub, engage with the content and join the conversation as we continue to build a stronger evidence base for smarter procurement across social housing.
