The CHIC Conference & Exhibition 2025 brought together leading voices from across the housing sector to consider current challenges and to explore how we should respond under the theme “Housing Matters Now.” Key sessions covered building safety, sustainability, procurement, social value and community engagement, with insights provided by experts and residents.
Highlights included calls for a “people first” approach to safety, deeper community collaboration and smarter, data-led asset management. Speakers challenged traditional thinking on mergers, net zero, and procurement, emphasising the need for empathy, transparency and long term planning. Across all topics, putting residents at the heart of decisions was a recurring theme.

Member Competition Winners Announcement
Congratulations to Housing Plus Group for bringing the most member representatives to the CHIC Conference & Exhibition 2025! As a prize, they have won a full day of social value support from members of the CHIC team.
Roundtables
In addition to the main conference sessions, CHIC also hosted a Newbuild Framework Core Group Roundtable on 21st May 2025. This event brought together key stakeholders to discuss improvements to KPIs, payment transparency and retention practices. Topics discussed ranged from accreditation management and supply chain engagement to social value delivery and compliance with emerging legislation such as Awaab’s Law.
We were also pleased to collaborate with ARK Consultancy to host a roundtable on asset management strategy in social housing. The session explored how landlords can align investment planning with net zero goals and tenant priorities. You can read ARK’s full write-up of the event here.
