2025/26 Social Value Overview

Every year CHIC aims to ensure social value is delivered through all contracts, supporting ongoing, positive activities that have a direct impact on the communities in which our members reside, directly improving the lives of their residents.

With the support of CHIP, our charity set up to achieve CHIC’s social value strategy, we are proud to report our social value outputs for 2025/26.

Social value data, delivered through CHIC contracts, returned a 66.7% response from our supply chain, who reported on their social value activities. Combined delivery saw social value outputs of £18.1M within member communities, which is made up of a wide range of activities such as supporting in schools, donations to food banks and local charities, donating funds to local causes, work experience, and apprenticeships and training opportunities.

In order to fully understand the wider impact we are all having, it will be incredibly helpful if all suppliers can report, to CHIC’s social value team, their yearly commitments to ensure we can accurately report these figures. The current return we have seen is fantastic; however, we know there is so much more positive work being delivered!

In addition, we have also seen amazing returns by supporting Local Employment Groups (£3M), CHIP’s Community Chest Fund (£68.6M) and the added value we delivered as part of a team, i.e. sponsored events and our volunteering programme (£250,000).

As a result of all of the above efforts, we are proud to report that we have seen a return of over £90M in social value, which we know is going to have had such a positive impact on the lives of so many individuals.
