Making It Happen

The social housing sector knows the scale of the challenge. The CHIC Conference & Exhibition 2027 is about what comes next.

“Making It Happen” is a practical, action focused conference that will bring together people from across social housing and its supply chain to explore how we turn ambition into delivery.

Covering strategic asset management, investment, procurement, compliance, retrofit and data, the focus will be on what organisations are doing in practice. We will explore the barriers to progress alongside the approaches that are delivering results, with collaboration at the heart of making change happen.

Why Making It Happen Matters

Our Members are facing an increasing pressure to deliver safe, compliant, energy-efficient homes while managing investment programmes, procurement and supply chain challenges.

Social value and tenant voice

For CHIC, Making It Happen is also about ensuring that investment in homes creates wider value for the people and communities our members serve.

A dedicated Social Value and Tenant Area will provide a space to consider tenant voice and the impact that decisions across the sector have on people living in social homes. It will create a focal point for conversations about social value and how tenant priorities can be better reflected in the work of landlords and the supply chain.

Throughout the day, we want to keep the tenant perspective at the heart of the conversation. The area will provide a dedicated space to share experiences and consider how tenants needs can influence the decisions organisations make, from how they manage their homes through to procurement and service delivery.

The conference will continue into the evening with the annual CHIP Fundraising Dinner & Awards, celebrating positive social value and community impact. The event will also raise funds to support the work of CHIP, CHIC’s charity, within members’ communities.

Communities and Housing Investment in People (CHIP) was set up to support the social value objectives set by CHIC. CHIP supports many social value operations within the organisation to ensure the maximum social value delivery is achieved, working in partnership with organisations and community groups to support projects that help to improve the lives of individuals, in addition to supporting communities, to bring about lasting, positive change.
